Position Overview:

The Bioscience Sales Specialist is responsible for the sales of Nikon microscopes and associated instrumentation within the designated territory. This position will be part of our Microscope Solutions Division.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales targets by managing all aspects of the sales cycle including prospecting, lead follow-up, quote generation, and closing by way of but not limited to presentations to the microscopy community, pursuing funding announcements, performing demonstrations, and providing technical information as required.
  • Respond to tenders and internal deadlines in a timely and professional manner including complete, polished, and accurate submissions.
  • Professional and constructive interaction with colleagues to help maintain current within the industry and with new products such as offering feedback, sharing expertise and experience, strategizing, etc. Constant self-guided learning regarding microscopy technology/applications using the available resources in the company and the industry.
  • Maintain lead/opportunity information in SFDC (SalesForce.com) so that management has accurate information about the sales pipeline on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Submit reports related to the territory as defined by General Manager and/or Regional Sales Manager. Perform additional tasks and duties as requested by General Manager and/or Regional Sales Manager.


Essential Knowledge:

  • University Degree within the science field preferred. 3-4 years of outside technical sales experience, preferably in the microscopy industry, would be an asset.
  • A high degree of computer literacy required must be efficient within a Windows environment: Outlook, Word, Excel. Must be adept to learning and navigating new software quickly. Familiarity with SFDC would be an asset.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills working within cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn, assess and apply modern technologies.
  • Ability to travel.

Working Conditions:

Candidates will work in a hospital, university and government laboratories setting up using microscopes, computers, and imaging equipment.
