Advanced coatings ensure maximum light transmission.

Low-quality uncoated filters can reduce the amount of light entering your lens, but the advanced multi-layer Zero One AR coating used in Arcrest II filters lets in close to 99.9% of visible light. This ensures high contrast and rich detail in your images—even in challenging situations such as backlit subjects or astrophotography.

Advanced coatings repel dirt and moisture.

It’s much easier to clean a protective filter than to clean the front element of a lens. Antistatic and water + oil-repellent coatings are applied to both surfaces of Arcrest II filters to help prevent dirt and moisture from sticking to the glass, but if cleaning is required, the special coatings make it easy—without the need for any specialist products.

Optically-flat glass for quality and durability.

If a filter isn’t perfectly flat, image quality can suffer. To ensure that the optical surface is as flat as possible, the glass in every Arcrest II filter is shaped and polished to an incredible degree of accuracy.

In addition, a special elastomer is sandwiched between the glass and the frame to keep the filter perfectly flat across its entire surface area. This minimizes the risk of distortion and reduces stress on the glass, extending the life of the filter.

Precision manufacturing and premium build.

Arcrest II filters are approximately 30% thinner than conventional filters, which results in less risk of vignetting, even with ultra-wide-angle lenses. Inner surfaces are coated with antireflective material to help prevent ghosting and flare from internal reflections, and the outer rim of the filters are knurled for ease of attachment and removal.
