Mark Jinks
Mark Jinks is an award-winning, internationally published nature photographer, writer, and educator based in Leduc, Alberta, Canada. His photography focuses on all things nature, capturing landscapes, wildlife, severe weather, and the night sky. Passionate about conservation and protecting our remaining natural areas, his goal is to raise awareness of our natural world through his imagery.
Originally from the UK, he moved to Alberta, Canada, at a young age and instantly fell in love with the nearby Canadian Rocky Mountains and wide-open prairie spaces. Mark is a self-taught photographer and his work has been featured in numerous publications in print and online, including The Globe and Mail, CBC, Canadian Geographic, Outdoor Photography Canada, and many more.
Mark teaches photography in small groups across Alberta from the mountains to the prairies and beyond, including aurora borealis retreats in the north.
As a travel photographer and writer, Mark works on campaigns and projects with tourism boards and brands across North America. Some select collaborations include Nikon Canada, Harper Collins, Westjet, Ford Canada, Rocky Mountaineer, Backroad Mapbooks, LumeCube, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts, Light Chasers Nature Photography Conferences, Northwest Territories Tourism, Travel Alberta, Bonjour Quebec, and more.
I never regret spending time in nature. It soothes the soul, inspires a passion for my subjects, and opens up an infinite amount of photographic possibilities.
