NIKON RELEASES NEW FIRMWARE FOR THE Z 7, Z 6, Z 5, AND Z 50 MIRRORLESS CAMERAS

MISSISSAUGA, ON

Nikon Canada Inc. is pleased to announce new firmware updates for a variety of Z series cameras. The updates are available today, and include firmware Ver. 3.40 for the Z 7 and Z 6, firmware Ver. 1.20 for the Z 5 and firmware Ver. 2.20 for the Z 50.

These updates will offer increased auto focus performance; AF usability is enhanced when shooting in low light situations, through improvements to Face and Eye-Detection performance in scenes where it was difficult to detect faces and eyes when using an external speedlight, as well as improved subject visibility during live view shooting through the viewfinder or monitor.

Additionally, firmware Ver. 3.40 for the Z 7 and Z 6 will include improved tracking frames used for face and eye detection, as well as subject-tracking AF. Eye detection will also be more effective for faces that are smaller in the frame, enabling smoother and more stable shooting.
